I've spent my career working on both.
As a producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, I can help develop the arrangement, shape the performances, choose the instrumentation, and build the recording around the song.
The record, not just the recording.
Production is a series of decisions. What belongs in the song? What doesn't? Where should it build? Where should it breathe?
Sometimes the smallest change makes the biggest difference.
The goal isn't to impose a sound on every artist. It's to find the right sound for the music.
